Batman, Aurora, and the >24/7 Social Media News Cycle

Sometimes, the social media world needs to pause.   I am not sure how best to react to the tragedy that took place in Aurora, Colorado last night.  It is a level of senseless loss that we Americans are blessed to know only rarely, although rarely is certainly more often than it should be.

12 people are dead from a shooting that had no real motive, no real purpose, only casualties.  And though the cast, crew, and countless people who made the movie probably don’t  deserve to suffer any financial loss for the insane actions of one troubled individual, we whose lives revolve around this great swirling mass of social media would do well to pause, and appreciate how fortunate we are to be alive, and how tragic this loss of life truly is.

Thank you to Seth Michalak, a social media marketing professional for bringing this to my attention.
